How does your garden grow?

Note to self: today I replaced both the pheromone-baited sticky trap and the tab of parasitic wasp eggs in the quince trees. I probably should have replaced one or both several weeks ago.

The quince trees have a bunch of fruits growing, and I don't think I've yet found any aborted ones on the ground yet.

The squash plants in both the front yard and the planter in the back yard are progressing beyond their seed-leaves (round and smooth) to serrated-edged ordinary leaves. The bean plants in both the front yard and the planter in the back yard may be doing the same, although something is nibbling the edges of the leaves.

May flowers are blooming - Clematis, Irises, woodland phlox, pinks, woodruff, alliums, columbine, roses. Some are faded or starting to go, giving way to June bloomers. Hydrangeas and milkweeds are getting ready to put on a show. I had hoped for a nice blueberry crop this year, but again many flowers did not fertilize even though I gave the bush a friend. Strawberries have taken over the world and haves set much fruit. I'm giving beans, carrots and onions a try in a small patch, growing from seed. We don't exactly have good carrot soil but I mixed in a bunch of chipped wood clippings and compost so we'll see. T

There is one butternut squash I bought in plant form, along with 3 tomatoes and a bunch of parsley and cilantro. I got these at home depot the other week - they open at 6am and if you get there then it isn't crowded and one can get in and out promptly without much worry. Don't wait till 7 though.

Hard to say. When I was there, there was no line to enter the building. I wandered around a bit, got the drill bit I needed indoors, then discovered one could not get to the live plants through the nursury, I had to exit the front door to go there. That might imply no line for entry - except you then still have to go inside to the regular aisle to pay for things. And of course the setup at 6am may not resemble the setup at noon.
