I heard about a tourism package to Mars, and immediately put down $700 on it, then started thinking "wait: this sounds too good to be true; I've just wasted $700." A few days later the full brochure arrived in the mail, describing the one-week package tours in more detail. They cost from $5695 to $6995, in addition to the $700 I'd already spent, and I thought "That's still less than I would have expected, but just within what I could possibly afford." Then as I bubbled up towards consciousness "Wait: we haven't put people on Mars yet at all; it's too soon for tourism packages." And once I was fully awake, "Wait: they don't seem to have counted travel time." But it did sound Really Cool....
