My mother forwarded me this charming link, which sneaks in the subversive message that governments are actually run mostly by ordinary, hard-working, mostly-competent people whose names don't appear in the news.

(The concept is compelling, too. Lewis Lapham, in a Harper's essay a million years ago, wrote that there is a Circus government and an Actual government, the former made up of popularly elected officials, and the latter actually running the country. I forget that all the time.)
