Catching up (apparently the first paper-diary entry since March 2005!):
As it happened, Charles didn't die "in six months", he died about two years after the previous entry. We flew down to Greenville on short notice, shared a memorial gathering with Dorothy, Paul, Claire, Jonathan, Joanne, Michael, Kathy, Louise & Craig, helped Dorothy with some of the immediate crises, and flew home. Months later, she seems to be doing OK, except for difficulty walking (her perennial ankle issues). She's trying to decide whether to stay in Greenville or move back to Reston.
