So in the past few months we've had centenary celebrations/commemorations of...

• the sinking of the Titanic (April 15)


• the birth of Alan Turing (June 23)


• the birth of Woody Guthrie (July 14)


• the birth of Julia Child (Aug 15)

A glance at Wikipedia lists lots of other events, births, and deaths in 1912, but the ones above brought themselves to my attention.
